Click On The Desired Entry.
In a "General Search" you can request any and all of the resumes in the
database by any combination of:
Keyword, City, State, Zip Codes, Country, and/or Category.
Keep in mind that the more information you enter in a single field or in
multiple fields, the more restictive your overall search will become.
If, for example, you wanted to search for all prospective job applicants
who included the program language "C++" in their keyword designation, you
would fill out the "Keyword" search field as follows and then click the
"Begin Search" Button.
If you wanted to search for all applicants with the "C++" designation in
San Jose, California, the appropriate fields would look as follows:
In other words, every field where a value is entered further restricts or
filters the search that is performed.
Conversely, if you merely want to list all resumes in the database from
California, the appropriate field entries should appear as follows:
Keep in mind that if you do NOT want to limit your search to the criteria
value in a "drop down box", (such as "State") make sure that the "Any"
value is selected and displayed (Clicking the "Clear" Button will reset
these values).
Thus, if you want to alter your search criteria, make sure you clear all
the previous entries in fields that contain information (or click the
"Clear" Button") so that subsequent searches are not restricted by these
previous entries.
Similarly, the "Specific Search" area allows you to search the resume
database for a specific resume of a given individual by their e-mail
address, first name, and/or last name and ignores those entries made in
the "General Search" area above it.
Therefore, you can use the flexibility of this search function to taylor
your search for resumes in a number of different ways. Try not to limit
your search at first so that you can evaluate as many of the available
resumes as possible. However, also note that if your criteria
selections produce results that include more than 100 resumes, you will
receive a message at the bottom of the search results screen conveying
this fact. If this happens, go back and try to further limit or refine
your search choices.
Resumes are added on a daily basis so check back frequently.
If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to e-mail
us so we may help you with this function.
If you know the E-Mail Address of the individual you want to search for
enter it here. You need only enter any part of the E-Mail Address if
you do not know the exact entire string. You need not use an "*".
Wild card entries are already assumed. The search is not case sensitive
and the E-Mail Address should have been entered in all lower case
letters. Leaving this field blank will include all E-Mail Addresses
with no restrictions.
Enter a First Name to include in your search. All postings that match
exactly to what you enter here as a First Name will be included. Wild
cards are assumed so that partial entries will be used for exact matches.
The search is not case sensitive. Leaving this field blank will include
all First Names with no restrictions.
Enter a Last Name to include in your search. All postings that match
exactly to what you enter here as a Last Name will be included. Wild
cards are assumed so that partial entries will be used for exact matches.
The search is not case sensitive. Leaving this field blank will include all Last
Names with no restrictions.
Enter the full or partial City Name to include in your search. All
postings that match exactly to what you enter here as a City Name will
be included. Wild cards are assumed so that partial entries will be
used for exact matches. The search is not case sensitive. Leaving this
field blank will include all Cities in the search with no restrictions.
Select from the options list the correct State Name. The 2 letter
code will automatically be inserted into the proper data field for the
search. Use the "Any" selection if you want to view multiple States or
you want to view all States in your search selection.
Enter the full or partial Zip Code to include in your search. All
postings that match exactly to what you enter here as a Zip Code will
be included. Wild cards are assumed so that partial entries will be
used for exact matches. Leaving this field blank will include all
Zip Codes in the search with no restrictions.
Select from the options list the correct Country Name you want to
include in your search. The 2 letter code will automatically be
inserted into the proper data field for the search. Use the "Any"
selection if you want to view multiple Countries or you want to view
all Countries in your search selection.
Select from the options list the correct Category you want to
include in your search. The code for this Category will automatically
be inserted into the proper data field for the search. Use the "Any"
selection if you want to view multiple Categories or you want to view
all Categories in your search selection.
This is perhaps the most important field for you to fill out
with care for your search. It provides you with the greatest
flexibility in refining and filtering your search selection.
The applicant has used keywords, phrases, or objective phrases in this
field to help you find their posting. Enter here any ONE of
these types of words or phrases you want to use to limit your search
selection. Be careful not to use more than one word or phrase at a
time since the search will assume an exact match to what is entered here.
For example, if you want applicants with programming backgrounds only,
use a phrase such as "programming" or, better yet, "program". The search
is not case sensitive and assumes wild card entries. You may have to
experiment with this capability and refine your entries to obtain the
desired effects. If you do not want to limit any posting based on this
field, it would be best to leave it blank. In doing so your search
selection will not restrict any posting based on what the applicant
entered here. GOOD LUCK.
